Earthquakes caused by Dutch gas extraction |
![]() |
A gas extraction company and the Dutch government catch sight of the UN human rights commission. It demands measures from the State to protect the inhabitants of the province Groningen from increasingly frequent earthquakes caused by the intensive extraction of gas. The government has already partly given in to the pressure of the local residents. In recent years, the volume of gas extraction has been halved. According to the national gas extraction company this is not the right approach. They lodged an appeal with the Dutch Council of State to fight the new measure. The Senate will decide in the upcoming weeks. Video Link!
