During his campaign in The Hague last week, Geert Wilders summoned bystanders to vote for the PVV if they want 'a city with less expenses and when possible also with a few less Moroccans'. Until now Wilders has always managed to just stay within the juridical limits concerning discrimination, but now he attacked Dutch Moroccans directly. In reactions Wilders is compared with Hitler. The latest polls in The Hague show that the PVV and the social democrats are in a neck-and-neck race for the win this coming Wednesday March 19.

When the public prosecutor is not taking action itself, Dutch Moroccan organisations will file a complaint about the remark Geert Wilders made last Wednesday while he was campaigning in The Hague. Wilders summoned bystanders to vote for the PVV if they want 'a city with less expenses and when possible also with a few less Moroccans'. Until now Wilders has always managed to just stay within the juridical and moral limits concerning discrimination. When he was taken to court a few years ago Wilders was cleared of discrimination, because the 'rude and degrading remarks were made in the context of the social debate about immigration and criminality'. Now Wilders did not attack the Islam, but the Dutch Moroccans directly.

Wilders recent provocation evoked loads of angry reactions. The reaction on Twitter from a Dutch Moroccan member of the PvdA is quite extreme: 'Hitler is among us. In the shape of Geert Wilders. Hitler had the opinion there should be less Jews. So that we will never forget'. Minister of Social Affairs Lodewijk Asscher: 'These kinds of statements people in The Hague can counteract this coming Wednesday by voting differently'. Prime minster Rutte: 'We cannot close our eyes for the fact that there are problems with certain groups. But what does not work, is to generalize a complete group. That has no sense'.

In The Hague the Freedom Party from Wilders is competing with the social democrat PvdA. The social democrats are already ruling in The Hague for many, many years. Same counts for Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Now it seems the PvdA will lose its majority in the large cities in the west of the country. Geert Wilders and his followers hope they will finally manage to win the local elections and seize the power in The Hague. The latest polls show that the PVV and the social democrats are in a neck-and-neck race for the win this coming Wednesday March 19.
