The Dutch cannabis experiment |

In 2019, the Dutch government launched a four-year cannabis experiment in which entrepreneurs can start growing cannabis legally. A strict selection will take place among aspiring growers who apply for the experiment; the entrepreneurs must not have a criminal record, for example. During the experiment coffeeshops in participating municipalities will only be allowed to sell officially controlled cannabis. Dutch documentary maker Frans Bromet follows the ups and downs of aspiring growers as they nail-bitingly await the selection procedure. He also interviews critical coffee shop owners, local residents and administrators. Trailer video!
